Publishers of The Gold Cross, the magazine of the New Jersey State First Aid Council. The Gold Cross magazine is now free-of-charge for volunteer EMTs certified by the State of New Jersey, and affiliated with a volunteer squad. (Subscriptions are paid for by the NJ EMT Training Fund.)

The Wayne Community Fire Company #1 was founded in 1918 and service the residence of the downtown area of Wayne.

The Preakness Volunteer Fire Co #4 was founded in 1924. It is the fourth oldest fire department in Wayne. Their purpose is for the protection of life and property which range from fire to similar disasters. The Preakness Volunteer Fire Company serves the northeast corner of Wayne Township.
